About Me
I am a Uttoxeter based artist creating highly distinctive glass art in the form of automotive emblems. Using an exclusive process for glass decoration, with delicate precision I chip glass prior to gilding it with 24 carat gold leaf, producing work that represents true craftsmanship, and the legacy associated with classic automotive brands.

I reinterpret iconic emblems as refined, collectable pieces, bringing together heritage, engineering discipline and a deep respect for design.
A childhood love of classic cars originated from my collections of diecast models, and combining this with a fascination for drawing, it is easy to see how my artistic journey began.
Before establishing myself fully as an artist, I built my professional life in mechanical engineering progressing to a master degree in my chosen field. That background remains central to my work, where clarity, structure and precision underpin every artwork I create.
Working with glass, reverse painting and 24 carat gold leaf, I employ a traditional glue chipping technique, where a specialist adhesive is applied to the glass surface, and as it cures, pulls away fine shards of glass to create finely textured light reactive depth.

This is a rarely practiced traditional process, now used by very few artists in a fine art context, requiring exceptional control and precision to achieve its distinctive surface.
Automotive history runs deeply through my work and yet my works are not simple reproductions. Each emblem is treated as a cultural artefact, layered with meaning, memory and identity.
The interplay of glass, gold and surface detail provides the finished pieces a quite sense of theatre, allowing familiar forms to take on a sculptural presence.

I believe that through my art I must continuously strive to think and act differently from the rest of the genre in which I work, but still maintain a link to a classic era of craftsmanship and artistry that allow my creations to hang proudly in any home, car space or office.
My work is held in private collections throughout the UK, Europe and America, furthermore two pieces are currently on display at the Silverstone Escapade gallery.
